PPI Deadline Frequently Asked Questions

Why is everyone talking about it now?

This deadline was announced back in March, but many more people are now aware of it thanks to an attention-grabbing advertising campaign using Arnold Schwarzenegger, encouraging everyone to make a decision about whether to claim and to ‘do it now’.

Hasn't everyone claimed already?

Despite £27bn having already been paid back to consumers, billions more is set aside waiting for those who haven’t claimed to do so and the deadline means there is a chance of those consumers missing out.

Does this affect me?

If you haven’t already checked to see whether you had PPI, you should do so now. If PPI is found, you will have time to decide whether you wish to claim. Even if you have claimed PPI, you should check to make sure you haven’t missed any on accounts you were unaware of. Once the deadline has passed, no claims will be considered.

You are already looking into PPI for me, should I worry?

No, the deadline is only for new PPI claims, if you have already submitted a claim it will be investigated.
