The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has announced that in decisions on disputes with consumers, the financial firms will be named.

Following the recent Watchdog programme regarding claims management companies, the Association of Professional Claims Managers (APCM) would like to remind consumers of the need to ensure that they are dealing with a reputable and professional claims management firm.

The founder members of the Association of Professional Claims Managers (APCM), are pleased to announce its official launch. The APCM is a new body, founded by Brunel Franklin (Altrincham); Gladstone Brookes (Warrington); We Claim U Gain (Swansea); Financial Recovery Solutions (Stockport); and Synergy Financial Solutions (Elland). Other appropriate professional CMCs will be invited to join the APCM in the coming weeks and months.

Today the Financial Services Authority (FSA) released a statement with the details of the amount of compensation paid by firms from January – June 2011 to customers who have complained about the mis-selling of payment protection insurance (PPI).
